About Dr.B.Raghava Rao
Dr. Raghava Rao Boppudi, an accomplished academician and researcher with over 36 years of distinguished service spanning teaching, administration, and research in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Dr Rao graduated and completed postgraduate studies from A.U. College of Engineering, Visakhapatnam, followed by a Doctorate from JNTUK University, building a strong foundation in engineering education and advanced research.
Dr Rao began his professional career serving the Government of Andhra Pradesh for two years before joining V R Siddhartha Engineering College, Vijayawada, where a long and impactful academic journey unfolded. Played a pivotal role in institutional quality enhancement by actively contributing to NAAC and NBA accreditation processes, including preparation, submission, and inspection phases. Dr Rao significantly contributed to strategic academic planning through the development of the Institutional Development Plan (IDP) under the TEQIP-II SC 1.2 program. As Dean of Academics of SAHE, led the design and development of engineering curricula for the new deemed-to-be university, aligning it with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Dr Rao authored 25 research publications in peer-reviewed journals and reputed conferences and successfully executed five research projects sponsored by DRDO Labs across Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, and Pune, demonstrating strong research leadership. Dr Rao’s research interests include Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), thermal analysis of FRP composites, compressible flows, ablation studies, and environmental parameters such as Ozone layer depletion and Global Warming.
A meritorious student throughout his educational career, Dr Rao secured National Merit Scholarship for his marks in Class X, stood as school second topper, was a college topper in Intermediate, and achieved third rank in graduation.
Dr Rao delivered 14 invited talks on both conventional and advanced topics in Mechanical Engineering and organised numerous ANSYS training programs and Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), national and international conferences. Dr Rao holds professional memberships in ISTE, MIE, and ISHRAE, reflecting active engagement with the engineering community.
