The Programme was accredited by NBA in the year 2019 under Tier-II. The department has 48 qualified Faculty out of which 5 faculty having Ph.D and 43 having M. Tech. The faculty members actively involve themselves in research activities and published/presented papers in National/International Journals and Conferences.
The B.Tech. program in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) [CSE(DS)] adopts an interdisciplinary approach, combining scientific methods, hands-on training, and statistical analysis to solve real-world challenges. As one of the fastest-growing fields, it equips students with industry-relevant skills to develop analytics-driven solutions.

The Data Science Department transforms data into insights, driving decision-making, problem-solving, and innovation. It provides a strong foundation in Computer Science and Engineering with specialized expertise in Data Science.
The CSE(DS) department has established the Data Analytics and Research Engineers (DARE) Club to enhance students’ proficiency in Data Analytics by equipping them with essential tools and techniques. The club organizes seminars, technical series (hackathons), technical quizzes, guest lectures, and workshops, providing hands-on learning experiences and insights into emerging trends in Data Science. These activities, conducted at the department and club levels, foster skill development and industry readiness.
Our Infrastructure
The department has state-of-the-art infrastructure and computing equipment worth Rs. 2.7 crores. Internet band width 500Mbps(1:1) leased line is available, supported by SOPHOS Firewall providing security. The department has well established class rooms and Laboratories equipped with LCD/LED Projectors and audio systems.

SKILL TRAINING: Students are encouraged to solve problems in various coding platforms Hacker rank, CodeChef, CodeForces, InterviewBit and SPOJ leads to high package placements.
INDUSTRY INSTITUTE INTERACTION: Provide direct training to students by Industry experts on curriculum courses and on latest Technologies.
MoU WITH VARIOUS ACADEMIES: University through which both faculty and students are being certified on Latest technologies.
CENTRES OF EXCELLENCE: In collaboration with Hexaware Technologies and BLACK BUCK were established.
SEMESTER READINESS PROGRAM: Implemented to faculty members for effective delivery of courses.
R&D AND CONSULTANCY: Faculty members are encouraged to involve in Research actively through Research Groups.
Student Development
Students are encouraged to participate in Inter Institute events, Certification Courses – NPTEL, Coursera, Spoken Tutorial – IIT Bombay etc., and National Level Competitions such as Smart India Hackathon (SIH) and various Project Contests at NIT’s and IIT’s. The department has two Student chapters and many events are being organized in association with these chapters.
